DAYTON, Ohio — Ahmed Mahfouz and Jesse Felten each scored three goals as the first-place Dayton Demonz defeated the Thousand Islands Privateers, 7-3, in a Federal Hockey League game Friday at the Hara Arena.

Dayton (36-6) used four second period goals to put the game out of reach. Mahfouz and Felten scored on penalty shots for the Demonz, while Peter Cintala netted a goal. Jeff Rose stopped 22 shots.

Adam McAllister and Max Mobley each registered a goal and an assist for Thousand Islands (19-24), and Nikolas Temple added a power play marker.

The Privateers and Demonz face each other again at 7:35 p.m. today in Dayton.
