The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is looking for people involved in a Friday shooting on Route 3 in the vicinity of Patricia Drive and Twin Oaks Drive in the town of LeRay.

According to a news release issued Saturday, at about 10:45 p.m. an unknown person or persons fired several rounds at a business sign. Two of those rounds passed through the sign and struck an occupied residence, with one round penetrating a wall and coming to rest inside. Detectives said the shooting likely was done from a moving vehicle.
