OGDENSBURG Kenneth J. Stull will be sworn in Wednesday as temporary assistant chief of the Ogdensburg Fire Department.
Mr. Stull, who joined the department as a firefighter in September 2000 and has been one of its four captains since October 2008, will take the oath at 3 p.m. at City Hall.
His annual salary will be $61,518.
Provisional Chief Michael J. Farrell, who held the position Mr. Stull is moving into, next will have to name a temporary captain. He said he intends to make that announcement March 1.
Were still interviewing the captains (candidates), he said Friday; there are four candidates.
Mr. Farrell, who replaced the retired Steven M. Badlam on Tuesday, is provisional chief because he needs to take a Civil Service test with other applicants to create a list of candidates.
From that list, one of the top three scorers will be chosen for the permanent chief position. The test will be held in January.
Until a permanent chief is in place, the appointment of Mr. Stull and the firefighter whom Mr. Farrell will name March 1 will remain temporary.
