OGDENSBURG Kody Kocsis scored on the power play with 10 seconds left to help the St. Lawrence Central hockey team scratch out a 2-2 Northern Athletic Conference Division II tie against Ogdensburg Free Academy on Monday night.
The tie gives the Larries a chance to win the Division II title as they have 21 points to the Blue Devils 20. OFA (10-5-4 overall, 9-2-2 league) has a chance to win the title outright if it beats Potsdam today.
Devon Euto and Blake Baldwin each provided a goal and an assist for St. Lawrence (14-5-1, 10-3) and Nate McLaughlin saved 34 shots.
Brandon Mullin netted a goal and an assist for OFA, while David Prudhomme turned aside 36 shots.
ISLANDERS 6, TUPPER LAKE 1
Sean Sheppard powered the Islanders with a goal and two assists as they beat the Lumberjacks in an NAC Division II game in Alexandria Bay.
Chris Strough stopped 13 shots and provided an assist for the Islanders (6-12-2, 3-10-1).
Hudson Sparks tallied for Tupper Lake (1-17-1, 0-12-0).
BOYS BASKETBALL
SOUTH JEFFERSON 51, SANDY CREEK 35
Jake Worden scored 18 points as the Spartans wrapped up its Frontier League regular season with a crossover win over the Comets in Adams.
Jordan Schloop contributed 11 points for South Jefferson (17-1, 16-1), which held Sandy Creek (7-10) to one point in the second quarter.
Zach Halsey led the Comets with 12 points.
HARRISVILLE 55, HERMON-DEKALB 37
Joey Butts generated 13 points and Tim Fowler added 10 more as the Pirates ended its regular season with a Northern Athletic Conference West Division win over the Demons in DeKalb Junction.
Nick Weir registered nine points for Harrisville (14-4, 11-3).
Macaulay Snells 13 points led the way for Hermon-DeKalb ((3-14, 3-11).
GIRLS BASKETBALL
GENERAL BROWN 38, SOUTH LEWIS 22
Katie Pitkin collected 13 points and seven rebounds as the Lions finished up the regular season with a crossover victory over the Falcons in Turin.
Rhea Pitkin added nine points for General Brown (11-7, 11-6).
Jordan Fitzgerald paced South Lewis (9-8, 9-7) with nine points.
