To The Editor:
Does the government know who is in charge of our state codes? Senator Pattie Ritchie and her aides dont, and the state thats another story altogether.
Lets start at the begining.
I made a complaint to the town about a code violation and the town and their code official refuses to uphold the state law. So I made a complaint thru the state Code Office and was told I would have to prove that the town and their code enforcement officer refuses to enforce the state codes. So I did. The state office as of today has done nothing. They informed me to contact the Senator because they cannot make the towns enforce the codes.
I contacted Senator Ritchies aide and asked for help in this matter, and he agreed to send a letter to the state and ask them who oversees the state codes. I also asked for a copy of this letter to which I have not received one. So I asked them to send a letter to the Governor for help, to which I also wanted a copy. So far nothing has been received.
If this is how Senator Ritchie runs her office, we are all in trouble because she stated that she is there for the people. If I was Senator Ritchie, I would want answers as to why no copies were sent and why the state is not responding to her requests. If no letters were sent as promised, she should fire someone.
Should we really trust our government and our town officials, I only hope so. But as of today, I have doubts. They seem to have their own agendas.
