RAPE - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police charged Andrew J. Regan, 29, of Norwood with one count of rape at 8:14 a.m. Wednesday, stemming from an incident that occurred at 3:45 am. Aug. 9, 2009 in the town of Potsdam. He was released on his own recognizance.



FALSE WRITTEN STATEMENT - NEWTON FALLS - Canton-based state police charged Robert L. Schroeder, 20, of Newton Falls with making a false written statement at 12:34 p.m. Wednesday stemming from an incident that was reported to troopers at 10:10 p.m. Jan. 11 in the town of Clifton. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Troopers had also charged Brian P. Laplante, 20, of Newton Falls with assault with intent to cause serious physical injury, and Justin A. Tanner, 22, of Philadelphia with second-degree reckless endangerment stemming from the same incident. Laplante was released on his own recognizance and Tanner was issued an appearance ticket.



BURGLARY - EDWARDS- Canton-based state police charged Dylan R. Sharpstene, 17, of Russell with third-degree burglary: illegal entry with intent at 7:53 p.m. Wednesday stemming from an incident reported to troopers as 12:46 p.m. Jan. 31 in the town of Edwards. He was released on his own recognizance.

Troopers had also charged Martin J. Reese, 17, of Edwards and Wallace F. McLaughlin, 20, of Edwards with third-degree burglary: illegal entry with intent on Feb. 5. In addition, McLaughlin was charged with a probation violation. They were released on their own recognizance.

Cody J. Gladle, 17, of Edwards was also charged with third-degree burglary: illegal entry with intent at 8:36 p.m. Feb. 10 in the town of Edwards. He was ordered held on $1,500 bail.



GRAND LARCENY - PIERREPONT - Canton-based state police charged Joseph E. Fisher, 44, of Colton with third-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal mischief at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday stemming from an incident reported to troopers at 1:10 a.m. Feb. 9 in the town of Pierrepont. He was released on his own recognizance.



ACCIDENT - EDWARDS - Gouverneur-based state police reported a one-vehicle accident at 7:54 a.m. Wednesday in the town of Edwards. The vehicle was operated by Ada F. Wager, 76, of Harrisville.



CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Keyon D. Hall, 24, of Watertown with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on state Highway 37 in the town of Massena. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Troopers also released Phillip M. Colsch, 20, of Carthage on an appearance ticket after charging him with unlawful possession of marijuana and ticketing him for an exhaust system violation.



MARIJUANA SALE - FORT COVINGTON - Malone-based state police charged Brett A. Laughing, 17, of Fort Covington with second-degree criminal sale of marijuana and acting in a manner injurious to a child younger than 17 at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday following an incident in Fort Covington.
