MADRID Jeffrey R. Lavare, 29, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly breaking into the a town of Madrid residence on two separate occasions to steal coins and cash.
Mr. Lavare, of 401 Haig Road, was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony, and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, St. Lawrence County sheriffs deputies said.
Deputies did not disclose the dates on which Mr. Lavare is accused of breaking into the Elliott Road residence, but did say he stole more than $1,000 worth of coins in the first incident, followed by $350 in currency during the second break-in.
He was arraigned in Potsdam Town Court before Justice James A. Mason and released to the supervision of probation. He is to appear in Madrid Town Court.
