TURIN — Haley Riley registered 15 kills, six aces and two blocks to help power No. 3 Lowville to a 25-8, 25-18, 25-15 Section 3 Class C-1 victory over No. 7 Mount Markham at South Lewis in Turin.

Tasha Widrick handed out 21 assists, and Erica Lucas recorded 13 service points. Rachael Waite added five kills for Lowville (15-4 overall), which will face top-seeded Tully in the championship game on Saturday at Chittenango.

Courtney Thompson, Bridget Wilcox and Emily Timian hit four kills apiece for Mount Markham (12-6).

DOLGEVILLE 3, SANDY CREEK 2

Ashley Mettler accounted for 21 kills, 10 assists and 13 digs as the No. 3 Blue Devils claimed an 8-25, 25-14, 21-25, 25-20, 25-19 Class C-2 victory over the No. 2 Comets at South Lewis.

Emily Young dished out 19 assists, and Mikey Rubas hit 10 kills for Dolgeville (13-5).

For the Comets, Kylie Hanni provided 14 kills, three blocks and eight digs. McKenna Guarasce recorded 12 kills and three blocks, and Kylie Martin supplied 18 assists and seven digs. Viki White chipped in with 17 assists and five digs for Sandy Creek (15-5).

ADIRONDACK 3, SOUTH JEFFERSON 1

Katarina Candee scored on 15 kills to guide the No. 2 Wildcats to a 25-21, 20-25, 25-16, 25-20 Class B victory over the No. 3 Spartans at Chittenango.

Amber Case distributed 36 assists for Adirondack (16-2).

For the Spartans, Alex Mooney finished with 10 kills and five aces. Jackie Decker contributed 11 assists and seven digs, and Janessa Vaadi provided 10 kills and five blocks for South Jefferson (14-4).

BOYS BASKETBALL

MADRID-WADDINGTON 74, HERMON-DEKALB 29

Colin O’Bryan scored 13 points and added five steals to lead Madrid-Waddington to a victory over Hermon-DeKalb in a Section 10 Class D first round game in Madrid.

The Yellow Jackets (13-6 overall), who played in the state Class D title game last year, will face No. 3 Chateaugay at noon Saturday at Potsdam High School in a quarterfinal game.

Richard Wright added 12 points for Madrid-Waddington. Steve Gilbert led the Demons (3-15) with 14 points.

MORRISTOWN 48, COLTON-PIERREPONT 34

Ryan Vollmer made 10 of 11 free throws and finished with 18 points to lead No. 9 Morristown past the No. 8 Colts (7-11) in a Class D first round game in Colton.

Morristown (7-11) will face No. 1 St. Regis Falls at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at Potsdam High School in a quarterfinal.

Bobby Simmons added 14 points for Morristown and Zach Farrar led the Colts with 12 points.

HEUVELTON 46, HAMMOND 43 (OT)

Mike Guardino finished with 12 points as the No. 7 Bulldogs (13-6) survived an upset attempt by No. 10 Hammond in overtime in a Class D first round game in Heuvelton.

Heuvelton will face No. 2 Edwards-Knox at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Potsdam High School in a quarterfinal.

Cody Holland added 11 points for Heuvelton.

Nolan Martin led the Red Devils (6-13) with 13 points and Darin Bresett finished with 12.

LISBON 52, CLIFTON-FINE 27

Jimmy Robinson scored 18 points to lead the No. 5 Golden Knights past No. 12 Clifton-Fine in a Class D first round game in Lisbon.

Lisbon (14-5) will face No. 4 Harrisville at 6 p.m. Saturday at Potsdam High School in a quarterfinal.

Jake Putney added 15 points for Lisbon and Matt Russell paced the Eagles (1-18) with 10 points.

HARRISVILLE 75, PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 31

Nate Weaver and Jared Dreythaler each scored 13 points to send No. 4 Harrisville (15-4) past No. 13 Parishville-Hopkinton in a Class D first round game in Harrisville.

Nick Weir and Justin Hartle both scored 10 points for the Pirates. Mike Burns led the Panthers (0-16) with 12 points and Mike Cook supplied 10.

CANTON 79, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 44

Bryant Wentworth’s 24-point game led No. 4 Canton past No. 5 Norwood-Norfolk (2-18) in a Class C first round game in Canton.

Canton (6-12) will travel to play top-seeded Tupper Lake in a semifinal at 6 p.m. Friday.

Nick Archibald and Evan LaPoint both scored 15 points for Canton. Cody Rust scored 15 for the Flyers.
