CARTHAGE The Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking members for standing committees and is considering changing the venue of some of its meetings.
At the meeting Wednesday, chamber President Teri L. Ellis distributed a list of committees with descriptions of each. Mrs. Ellis told the directors that committee members need not be members of the board but could be members of the chamber or business owners.
There are a lot of people out there that would like to help with an event but just never have been asked, she said.
She urged the directors to commit to a committee and to submit names of those who they thought would be interested.
The chambers activities, committees and events include business after hours, the upkeep of a website and Facebook page, Fort Drum liaison, promoting and marketing, recruiting, Farmers Market, seminars and forums, New Years baby gift basket, Winterfest, Sounds of Summer concert series, July 4th fireworks, Business Awards Dinner, Holiday Parade and the Holiday Memory Tree.
Anyone who is interested in serving on a committee can call the chamber office at 493-3590.
