MASSENA With $30,190 in revenue, Massena Recreation Superintendent Richard A. Boprey called January a very strong month for the Massena Arena.
Mr. Boprey told Massena Joint Recreation Commission members last week that money came from a number of sources, including arena ice rental, games, events and public skating fees, which include shinny hockey sessions.
Arena advertising for the month was $1,450, he said. Concession sales were strong, up $1,400 from the previous month, Mr. Boprey said.
The figures dont include payments from SUNY Potsdam, whose mens hockey team is using the arena this season while its home ice at Maxcy Hall undergoes renovation. But, Mr. Boprey said, with the Bears home season winding down, he anticipates payment for the 10 contracted games will arrive soon.
