WATSON — A town of Watson garage was destroyed in a Thursday afternoon fire.

Lowville firefighters at 2:54 p.m. were called to a garage fire at the Raymond Higby residence, 6479 Hodge Road, and requested mutual aid from New Bremen Fire Department.

The three-stall garage and its contents were deemed a total loss, according to Lewis County Fire Coordinator James M. Martin

The blaze was caused by a bad furnace pipe going into the chimney, he said.

There was insurance on the structure.
