Four Golden Knights earn league honors

POTSDAM — Four Clarkson men’s basketball players received Liberty League honors for the 2012-13 season.

Sophomore and Potsdam native John Coleman was selected to the second team after leading the Golden Knights in scoring (15.6 points per game) and rebounding (6.5 rpg). Junior Marques Charlton and senior Jerry Coleman, John’s brother, were honorable mentions.

Charlton averaged 13.8 points per game, including a single-game high 32-point effort against Vassar on Jan. 12. Coleman led the team with 86 assists and averaged 14.5 points per game.

Felix Abongo was a unanimous selection to the all-rookie team after averaging 9.8 points per game and 5.2 rebounds a game.

n Clarkson women’s basketball freshman Ashley Loggins earned three Liberty League honors. Loggins was named co-rookie of the year along with Bard freshman Tytravia Riley, and was named to the all-rookie team. Loggins also grabbed a spot on the Liberty League second team as she led the Golden Knights in scoring with 17.4 points per game and 10.3 rebounds a game.
