The Pentagon ordered the military to remove crosses from chapels in Afghanistan. Retired Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin of the Family Research Council said it best: Christian cleansing of the military is under way. Details of this news were exposed by Todd Starnes of Fox News on Jan. 25.
Being politically correct will be our downfall. Religion and atheism are a belief. Muslims, atheists and the American Civil Liberties Union can believe what they want and display whatever symbol they want. It is wrong when they intimidate and threaten others because another belief is different from their beliefs. We should call it intimidation, because they are intent on eliminating the beliefs of Christians. Our religious beliefs are one of the characteristics that form and bond our military troops. Military leaders should not demean the Christian beliefs. We should not feel intimidated when we choose to display a cross in our yard or when praying in public.
This nation was founded on Christian beliefs. It is one thing that has managed to keep this country together along with moral ethical values. Many of the public buildings in Washington, D.C., have references to Christian beliefs. We have to stand up and preserve these icons before we forget what they are. It only takes a couple of generations, and we will lose what our country was based on.
Or is this the intent of those in Washington, D.C., to reform our beliefs and moral ethic values? America has demonstrated to the world how a civilized country works. We have a lot to be proud of, and we cannot stop.
