FELONY AGGRAVATED DWI - POTSDAM - Village police charged Terry L. Sweeney, 43, of Potsdam with a felony count of aggravated driving while intoxicated and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and ticketed him for inadequate head lights at 2:36 a.m. Saturday on Depot Street. Police said they observed Sweeney operating his motor vehicle south on Market Street with no head lights. Police initiated a traffic stop on Depot Street, and further investigation revealed that Sweeney was intoxicated and was in possession of Hydrocodone. Sweeney reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.22 percent. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher constitutes a DWI, and the charges are elevated to aggravated DWI when the BAC is 0.18 percent of higher. The felony count alleges Sweeney had a driving while intoxicated conviction within the past 10 years.

PEDESTRIAN CROSSING - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Michael J. Burns, 17, of Potsdam for driving through a crosswalk while a pedestrian was crossing at 7:15 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop.

INADEQUATE HEADLIGHTS - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Emily M. Bradshaw, 21, of Potsdam for operation of a vehicle with inadequate headlights at 9:32 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop.

NO HEADLIGHTS - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Christopher J. Stone, 17, of Norwood, for operating a vehicle after dusk without headlights at 10:10 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop.

NO SEATBELT - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Jason R. Goray, 20, of Hudson Falls for failure to wear his seatbelt at 11:29 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop.

1225 Patrols assisted with a funeral escort.

1334 Received a report of a highly intoxicated subject on Market Street. Patrols responded along with Potsdam Rescue.

1900 Reported gas drive off in Norwood headed toward Potsdam. Patrol unable to locate vehicle.

1915 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

2105 Traffic stop on Market Street. Verbal warning issued.

2132 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

2140 Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad dispatched to a call.

2202 Traffic stop on Lawrence Avenue. Verbal warning issued.

2210 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

2300 Patrols assisted NYS DOT with a vehicle escort through the village.

2329 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

Jason R. Goray (20) of Hudson Falls, was issued a traffic ticket for no seatbelt/ driver, returnable to Potsdam Village court on March 22nd, 2013.

2342 PPD received report of an underage drinking party through the SLCSO Underage Drinking Hotline. Patrols responded to the area and investigated revealing no such party to be on-going.
