DANVILLE, Ill. Kirk Goldens goal 4 minutes, 20 seconds into overtime helped the Danville Dashers pull out a 4-3 win over the Thousand Islands Privateers in a Federal Hockey League game on Sunday.
The win creates a third-place tie between Danville (21-33) and Thousand Islands (22-29), both with 65 points. The Privateers can clinch third if they get one point out their final two games against the Danbury Whalers on Friday and Saturday at the Watertown Municipal Arena.
Kevin McCready netted a pair of second-period goals for the Dashers, including an even-strength goal to give Danville a 3-1 lead. Ex-Privateers goalie Peter Dundovich made 22 saves.
Carlo Ricci scored twice for the Privateers, including the game-tying goal 6:58 into the third period to make it 3-3. Bryan Kalczynski stopped 39 shots.
