CANTON Basic information on raising sheep and goats will be offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9 at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm.
The program will include both lecture and hands-on activities.
Topics will include how to buy animals, breed differences, health and feeding management, body condition grading, hoof trimming, tagging, tattooing and 4-H showing.
Participants will have the opportunity to handle some of the 80 sheep at the farm along with goats provided by the Rastley family of Gouverneur.
The cost is $10 per person or $25 per family. To register, call the Extension at 379-9192.
