Joshua J. Staplin, 18, of 221 Clinton St., was charged by city police Wednesday night with petit larceny in connection with a theft at the Y, 119 Washington St.

Police said he is accused of stealing on Tuesday night in the weight room a coat belonging to Anthony D. Brady, 264 S. Massey St., that contained two sets of keys, a cellphone and an iPod. The theft value was set at $460.
