St. Lawrence University junior forward Greg Carey, who lead the nation in goals (25) and points (47), has been named the Hockey Commissioners Association National Division Iplayer of the month for February.
Carey scored an ECAC Hockey-high and nation-second best 13points, including nine goals and four assists,for the Saints in February. In eight contests during the month, five of his goals were on the powerplay and three were game-winning tallies.
The 5-11, 195-pound winger from Hamilton, Ontario is riding an 11-game goal-scoring streak, which ties the St. Lawrence school record set by Neale Langill in the 1951-52 season.
Carey helped the Saints to a 5-2-1 mark last month which included 2-1 victory at No. 1-ranked Quinnipiac to snap the Bobcats 21-game unbeaten streak and a 4-2 win over 18th-ranked Union.
Carey joins teammate Kyle Flanagan (October) and Andrew Calof from Princeton (January) as ECAC Hockey student-athletes to be tabbedwith the HCA player of the month honors this season.
