Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Elizabeth Turck of Castorland, Elaine (Jeff) McLear of Castorland, Mary Jane (Vern) Scoville of Carthage, and Renee (Jude) Kiah of Macomb, Il; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, Newton Sr., Howard (Guy), Walter and Earl Mellnitz, and two sisters, Elizabeth Walseman and Naomi Hirschey. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, beginning with a 10:15 a.m. Prayer Service at the Scanlon Funeral Home, 9791 Main St., Croghan, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass from St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Croghan, with the Rev. Daniel L. Chapin, Pastor, officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Bremen.

Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
