WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Senior Gerardo Torres went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs as the SUNY Canton baseball team outlasted Alma (Mich.) College, 15-10, to earn its first win of the season on Thursday.

Eddy Morel, Tom Darling and Jordan Hunneyman each drove in a pair of runs for the Kangaroos (1-5). James Amelotte picked up the win by going 6 1/3 innings. The Scots fell to 4-3.

■ Katie Neely belted out three hits and three RBIs as the Capital (Ohio) University softball team used a nine-run fourth inning to rout SUNY Canton, 17-5, Thursday in Clermont, Fla. Heather Lottie socked a solo home run and went 2-for-3 for the Kangaroos (0-5).
