A golden goal decided a sterling sliver quality night of playoff action in the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club Girls Indoor Soccer Program on Thursday.
Germany claimed the title with a 3-2 overtime victory over regular season champion Holland.
Following the championship game Germany and Holland received team awards and individual awards went to: Offensive MVP Alicia Shaver, Defensive MVP Hannah Degraw, Taylor Perry and Katie Rogers as recipients of the Outstanding Hustle Awards and Katelyn Gleason and Alicia Sharpe as the recipients of the Outstanding Sportsmanship Awards
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
Germany 3 Holland 2: Alicia Shaver scored the winning (golden goal) goal with 23 seconds remaining in overtime. Shaver also scored in regulation along with Jada Smith. Holland was led by Kiera Johnson and Alicia Sharpe who scored second half goals.
SEMI-FINAL GAMES
Holland 8 France 3: Holland advanced to the finals with a high scoring offense led by Alicia Sharpes three goals and two Kiera Johnson and Taylor Perry. Shannon Tooley scored a hat trick to keep France close.
USA 2 Germany 2(won in PKs): Alicia Shavers shootout PK sent the Germans on to the finals. Shaver did all the scoring in regulation as well with two second-half goals. Riley Luckie and Natalie McCormick led the winners defensive play. The USA was led by Courtney Sherwin and Kaitlin Gleason who scored single goals.
