HEUVELTON - Jim Conant fired a 22-for-48 triple and shared singles honors at 8-for-16 with Junior Mack, Tom Dawson and Mert Haynes heading into the final week of the Doug’s Tavern Winter Horseshoe League season.

Girard’s Limo Service tossed 63 ringers on the week where Doug’s Tavern edged Girard’s 5-4, Strate Construction nipped Ogdensburg Bowl 5-4, and Stiles Sand and Gravel tripped Dawson’s Meat Cutting 5-4. Nig’s Tavern had the bye.

Strate Construction heads into the final week with a eight-win lead over Nig’s Tavern in the standings 94-86 wins.

The banquet will be held next Saturday at the Ogdensburg AmVets beginning at 5 p.m. cocktails. A blind draw horseshoe tournament will be held before at Doug’s Tavern for league players.

Players should check for time on Thursday.
