LOWVILLE Route 177 in Lewis County was closed by state Department of Transportation officials for a couple of hours Wednesday due to snowstorm-related issues.
Several vehicles, including a trailer truck near the Jefferson County line, went off the road Wednesday morning, and blowing snow made clearing the accident scenes and travel difficult, according to DOT spokesman Michael R. Flick.
The road was closed at noon and reopened at around 2 p.m.
A travel advisory issued by the Lewis County Sheriffs Department late Tuesday night remains in effect. Motorists are advised to be cautious of blowing snow and snow-covered roads.
