To The Editor:
July 4, 2013 the Eurto family will meet at the Barnhart Island pavilion for a family reunion. The event spear headed by Mrs. Grace Haggett Garabrant, a fourth generation Eurto, will feature a family quilt to be raffled, the proceeds going to help pay for the event.
Families from all over the United States will attend, even some as far away as the state of Hawaii.
Another announced event will be the appearance of Raleigh Haggett, a fourth generation Eurto, and his merry band of bikers. According to Mr. Haggett, the group, even though not invited and not Eurto family members, will attend. Im sure all of the Eurto family members will marvel as the 16 Harleys enter the pavillion area and varoom, varoom their engines. Better than fireworks.
I, being a third generation Eurto from the family of Andrew Eurto, will not attend but it is not because of Mr. Haggett and his entourage. I have, on the same day, a 50th high school class reunion and have planned attendance for many months.
I see the Eurtos and at least one of the Haggetts at least once a week this may be the last time I ever see my high school classmates and surprisingly, I guess, there are many of us left.
Lets hope this latest Eurto family reunion is a peaceful quiet event for all in attendance for some of them are quite old.
