CHAMPION — A 74-year-old man died following a one-vehicle accident Tuesday morning near his home on Sayre Road.

State police said Harold L. Waite, of 33920 Sayre Road, lost control of his vehicle about 7:30 a.m. The vehicle went off the snow-covered road, hit an embankment and came to rest against a tree. Mr. Waite was taken to Carthage Area Hospital, where he later was pronounced dead.

State police said they are continuing to investigate the accident to see if a medical condition may have led to the crash.

No other information was available Thursday.
