River of Hope

To The Editor:

On March 16, 2013, Relay for Life Team Seaway – River of Hope held its annual fundraiser at Bobby-I’s in Helena. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you on behalf of my team to those who helped us raise $3,178 for the American Cancer Society.

First of all, special thanks go to Bob and Irene Carter, the proprietors of Bobby-I’s, for hosting our event again. They both have been great supporters of our cause over the past several years. And thanks to our auctioneer, Jimmy Gurrola, for again donating his time and his flair for getting the best bid for us.

Many thanks to the following vendors/individuals who donated items for the auction: Home Depot, Romeo’s Liquor, Haun Welding, Domino’s Pizza, Dunkin Donuts, Advanced Auto, Pizza Hut, Exotic Expose, Tractor Supply, Massena Movieplex, Coakley’s Ace Hardware, Duty Free Stores, Peet’s Jewelers, Open Net, Upstate Doors, Walmart, Price Chopper, Deer Valley Trails, Natural Message Therapy, Curran Renewable Energy, Southern Wine and Spirits, Massena Gold Coffee, Empire Distribution, Blevin’s Motors, Meadow Hurt/Suriss Farms, Cappione’s, AJ Missert, Kuenzler Dairy Equipment, Studio 162, Marilyn Roberts, Josef Walker, Vicki Garcia, Cheryl Wilson, Diane Baines, and George White.

Thank you to Tom White and Bud Shorette for cooking the chili and hot dogs. Next year, we’ll get you chef hats to wear. Hats off to Mary Beth Warburton for being our “Price is Right” model for the afternoon.

To Meagan B. – your special treats were a hit as usual. Thanks to the rest of our team members and volunteers who also donated their time and/or donated items for our event. And last but not least, thank you to all who participated in the auction, made a donation, and bought raffle tickets and our fabulous food. Everyone’s generosity was and will always be greatly appreciated.
