Officials at the Thousand Islands Performing Arts Fund, operators of the Clayton Opera House, have officially booked the concert in its summer lineup which had previously been promoted as to be announced.
An Evening with Great Big Sea will be staged at 7:30 p.m. July 17 at the opera house, 405 Riverside Drive.
Great Big Sea performed at the opera house in 2009 and was one of the fastest-selling shows TIPAF ever presented.
The Canadian folk-rock band from Newfoundland and Labrador is best known for performing energetic rock interpretations of traditional Newfoundland folk songs, including sea shanties, which draw from the islands 500-year-old Irish, Scottish and French heritage.
Tickets go on sale April 19 to TIPAFs member patrons, those who support TIPAF annually with donations beyond purchasing tickets. Tickets go on sale to the public May 14.
For information, to become a member patron or to be placed on TIPAFs mailing and email list, call the opera house box office at 686-2200 or visit www.claytonoperahouse.org.
