Two SUNY Potsdam alumnae impressed judges on the season premiere of the NBC realty television show The Voice.
Twin sisters Cara and Rhian Morgan, Rochester, who perform as The Morgan Twins, were selected by all four judges on the show for their rendition of Alicia Keys Fallin,
The Morgan sisters graduated from SUNY Potsdam in 2007, Cara with a degree in psychology.
The members of the SUNY Potsdam psychology department were delighted to learn that one of our alumni, Cara Morgan, is competing on the current season of the NBC show The Voice. We remember her fondly and would like to send her our best wishes. Singing and performing were always her passions, and we are cheering her on as the competition unfolds, said Arlene Stillwell, psychology chair.
Rhian, who graduated with a degree in community health, was fondly recalled by Maureen A. McCarthy, community health chair.
Rhian worked hard when she was a student here. We all knew she and her sister were hoping to pursue a singing career together. Another one of our graduates sent us a very excited email to let me know that Rhian and Cara were on The Voice, so they have a lot of folks from the SUNY Potsdam community rooting for them, she said.
Since graduation, the sisters have used their degrees to find employment in their fields while striving to make music a full-time career. The sisters auditioned for American Idol and performed at a Buffalo Bills game.
