To The Editor:
Donations to the Pierrepont Museum continue to motivate me in the continuing work of this important historical building. My appreciation goes out to those making this possible, including our local newspapers reporting updates, specifically reporter Benny Fairchild.
I am genuinely amazed at the interest shown in his fine old building. We have added research books donated by Dennis Eickhoff, Colton historian, and Linda Casserly, Canton historian. Another useful donation of a small ramp at the rear of the building took place last year, furnished by Tobias Eurto of All Northern Locksmith. This ramp allows easier access into the museum for those who could not enter without difficulty in earlier years.
The Briggs letters dating from 1808 through 1894 have been transcribed and are now in binders for easy reading.
During the summer months, we are hoping to paint the outside of the museum, through further donations.
For those interested in visiting, the museum will be open Saturdays from May 30 through Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., but I also can be reached for appointments at other times at 379-0804 and email@example.com.
Looking forward to seeing you in the spring!
