THERESA- Ruberta M. Gleason, 90, of Schell Road died Friday, March 29, 2013 surrounded by her loving family and was under the care Hospice of Jefferson County.
Born March 29, 1923 in Theresa, NY, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and the late Emma L. RobinsonShurtleff, and graduated from Theresa High School in 1940.
She married Douglas C. Gleason on October 16, 1947.
Mrs. Gleason was employed with Faichney Industries, Woolworths and Musselmans Restaurant, all in Watertown. She was also a Home Health Aid for Jefferson County.
She was a member of the Theresa Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday school, was a member of the Theresa Senior Citizens and the State Wide Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Gleason enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing cards with her grandchildren
Surviving besides her husband, Doug, are two sons and their wives, Frederick and Joan, Calcium and Francis and Julie, Clayton; a daughter and her husband, Gail and Daryl Marsh, Theresa; eight grandchildren: five great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Dorothy Garcia, Syracuse, Sally Gleason, Star Lake and Morris and Mary Gleason, Theresa; and several nieces and nephews.
Three grandsons, Douglas W. Gleason, Brandon Gleason and Brooks Gleason, a great granddaughter, Alanna Lynn Buckley; three brothers, Wendell, Phillip and Lyle died before her.
The funeral will be 1:00 pm, Saturaday, April 6, 2013 at the Theresa Presbyterian Church with Pastor Robert Vrooman officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Theresa.
Calling hours are 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm, Friday, April 5, 2013 at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa.
