To The Editor:

To the Tri-Town communities of Brasher, Lawrence, and Stockholm, the Christian Basket Committee would like to say, “thank you, thank you.” We were concerned that our economy was such that donations would understandably be less. To our surprise, everyone seemed to sacrifice more and this was an exceptional year. You were able to help 115 families with 251 children.

We would like to thank our school community, administration, teachers, staff and students who donated, collected, sorted, transported, numbered, cut and competed. Many gifts were donated or bought and over 2,000 food items were collected and over $2,300 was raised. We have an awesome school.

Also, thanks to the Imaging Department at Massena Memorial, Kim Hall and her family and friends, our thrifty shoppers, Mystery Party people, couponers and individual people who donated anywhere from $20-$300. Special thanks to Maurice and Jing Mahoney, Marie Kowalchuk and family and Patty Busch.

Our businesses and local organizations were very generous. Thank you Stewart’s, Goodnow Insurance, NuMed, Key Bank, B&W Quick Stop, Cuts & A Bit More, Brasher IGA, St. Patrick’s Altar Rosary, Knights of Columbus and Auxiliary, Brasher-Winthrop Fire Department, Helena Fire Department, TOPS, American Legion Auxiliary Post 514, BOCES, Boy Scouts and North Country Dairy. Special thanks to the Quad Town Lions Club and Primabella’s.

Finally we have to thank the congregations of the United Methodist, Victory Baptist, Life in His Arms, St. Lawrence and St. Patrick’s churches for their donations of food, gifts and time. Special thanks to St. Patrick’s for the continued use of the Parish Center.

The Tri-Town communities of Stockholm, Lawrence and Brasher are not large. Our businesses and organizations are few and small. But your hearts are certainly large and generous. Thank you for making Christmas 2012 a very happy one for so many children and families.
