Food Bank of Central New York Executive Director Thomas F. Slater recently announced he will retire in July after leading the agency for 18 years.
I have had the privilege to hold a meaningful job that makes a difference in other peoples lives every day, he said, in a prepared statement. I look forward to seeing the Food Bank continue to grow with the excellent staff we have in place.
He will be replaced by Chief Operating Officer Kathleen Stress.
The Thomas F. Slater Fund has been created, as a way to carry on Mr. Slaters legacy.
The Syracuse-based Food Bank of Central New York serves 11 counties, including Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence.
