STOCKHOLM — A one-car crash early Saturday on County Route 47 left two men hospitalized.

St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies said the crash occurred about 2 a.m. when Frank J. Kaiser, 36, of 5508 Route 56, Lot 13, Potsdam, lost control of the 2003 Dodge Caravan he was driving near Knapps Station. Deputies said that after the van left the right side of the road, Mr. Kaiser overcorrected; the van then went off the left side of the road, hit a tree and overturned.

Mr. Kaiser and passenger Ray L. Bush, 34, of 52 W. High St., Norfolk, were taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, where Mr. Bush was admitted for treatment of facial injuries. Mr. Kaiser was transferred to Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt., for treatment of fractured vertebrae.

An investigation was continuing, and no charges had been filed Saturday.

State police, the West Stockholm Fire Department and the Norfolk Fire Department also responded.
