BROWNVILLE — Jefferson A. Mahon, 40, of 105 St. Lawrence Ave., Brownville, was charged on Monday night by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated, refusing to take a breath test and second-degree criminal contempt following a domestic dispute.

Deputies allege Mr. Mahon violated the terms of an order of protection when he showed up intoxicated at the residence of Lisa M. Mahon, 22650 Lewis St., Lot 19, town of Pamelia, to visit their two children at about 8:50 p.m. Monday.

After he initially refused to take a Breathalyzer test, deputies later determined that Mr. Mahon had a 0.13 percent blood alcohol content. The state’s legal BAC limit is 0.08 percent.

He was arraigned in Brownville Town Court and then remanded to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $1,000 bail.
