Brendon Shearin of the Clarkson University mens lacrosse team was named the Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week, the school announced Monday,
Shearin, a senior, led the Golden Knights to a 2-0 week, providing four goals in a nonleague win over SUNY Oswego and adding three in a conference victory over Union College.
Other award winners include St. Lawrences Jeremy Vautour and Clarksons Christine Wright, who were selected as the leagues rookie of the week for mens and womens lacrosse, respectively.
Three St. Lawrence athletes claimed track and field awards as Hannah Kinsey was named the Track Performer of the Week, Marisa Turner is the Field Performer of the Week and Nick Crawford is the mens rookie of the week.
In mens tennis, Michael Hayden of St. Lawrence was chosen as the performer of the week and teammate Rhonny Rosario is the rookie of the week.
Several other area athletes were named to the weekly honor roll in their respective sports, including Jeff Kott (St. Lawrence, baseball); Bryan Chudy (Clarkson, baseball); Slyssa Cristaldi (Clarkson, womens lacrosse); Morgan McNeal (St. Lawrence, womens tennis).
