BRASHER FALLS — The St. Lawrence Central School District’s incoming superintendent is expected to sign his contract once final revisions have been incorporated into the agreement.
Board of Education President James K. Lattimer said the board is scheduled to act on Stephan J. Vigliotti Sr.’s contract at its meeting Monday evening.
“The board is going to approve it,” he said. “This way the whole board has some input” rather than just a couple of board members who worked on the agreement.
Mr. Lattimer said the agreement’s details are in place. The contract calls for an annual salary of $125,000, according to the board president.
“We went over the last details on Friday night. We’ve agreed, he’s agreed,” he said. “I’m just waiting for the actual document to be revised and sent to me.”
He said Mr. Vigliotti, the outgoing superintendent at General Brown Central School District, will travel to the district “and we’ll sign it together.”
Mr. Vigliotti was selected for the post in early March. He will replace Stephen M. Putman, who has served as district superintendent since 2005 and plans to retire at the end of the school year.
St. Lawrence Central initially had 10 candidates apply for the position, and that list was narrowed to three who were brought in for interviews with administrators, teachers and community members. The search was then pared down to Mr. Vigliotti and Lisa L. Grenville, who began working in the St. Lawrence Central School District in August 2005. She became high school principal in September and also serves as special education director.
