LISBON — An man and his mother are facing charges after they allegedly allowed two small children to play unsupervised near Route 37.

Todd J. Terhune, 35, and Elizabeth T. Harper, 61, both of Ogdensburg, each was charged Monday with endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, state police at Ogdensburg said.

Troopers said they drove by a home on Route 37 and saw the children, ages 2 and 3, alone near the highway. Investigation revealed that Terhune and Harper were supposed to be watching the children, one of whom belonged to Terhune and one of whom belonged to a friend of Terhune, troopers said.

Terhune and Harper were issued appearance tickets in the case.
