Norwood - Three young women will be vying for the title of St. Lawrence County Dairy Princess at the annual pageant and banquet slated April 26 at the Norwood American Legion.
Also, four young women have expressed interested in becoming Dairy Ambassadors.

The newly appointed court will appear in the annual Dairy Princess Parade in Canton on June 1.
The 2013-2014 dairy royalty will promote the dairy industry through a variety of speaking engagements and appearances including schools, civic groups, and the media. In addition, the dairy royalty will represent the dairy industry in parades and local fairs and festivals. The dairy princess will also have the opportunity to attend a training seminar to learn more about dairy promotion, public speaking and interacting with the public.
Heres a brief biography on the candidates.
■ My name is Jennifer King and I am a candidate for Dairy Princess. I am the daughter of David and LouAnne King. My mother is a co-owner of Maple View Dairy LLC and my father owns a registered Holstein farm. I am a sophomore at Madrid-Waddington Central School. I am active in numerous school clubs, sports, and agriculture activities. I am looking forward to promote the dairy industry.
■ Hello, my name is Kalie Peets, I live in Massena with my parents Karen and Christopher Peets. I am a sophomore at Massena Central School. I participate on the swim team, indoor track/outdoor track teams. teRiele Family Dairy, LLC, will be my sponsor, which I am a granddaughter of Mr.. and Mrs. Joseph teRiele. I have enjoyed helping, watching and experiencing the dairy industry at the farm.
■ Im Brooke Rastley. I am running for Dairy Princess. Is the daughter of Patrick and Jennifer Rastley of Rocky Knoll Farm in Gouverneur. I work at LaVack Farms, LLC in Gouverneur. I am involved in two 4-H clubs, president in one and secretary in the other. I am also the Newsletter Editor of the St. Lawrence Valley Dairy Goat Assoc. Im looking forward to the coming year. Dont forget to eat three dairy products everyday.
■ Hello, my name is Camryn Chester. I am the daughter of Allen and Amy Chester. They are part owners of C & M Dairy LLC of Lisbon. I attend Madrid-Waddington Central School. I am a member of Chipman Champion 4-H Club, basketball, soccer, Junior Holstein Club and enjoy showing cows at the local fairs. I am looking forward to my first year as Dairy Ambassador and promoting dairy.
■ Hello, my name is Paige Moulton. I am one of the candidates for the ambassadors. My parents are Amy and Bernie Moulton. They are part owners of C & M Dairy LLC of Lisbon. I attend Madrid-Waddington Central School as a freshman. I enjoy participating in soccer, softball, skating, and the Junior Holstein Club. I am the secretary in National Junior Honor Society, Canton FFA, and Chipman Champions at 4-H Club. This will be my third year as an ambassador. I enjoy promoting the dairy industry.
■ Im Megan Parkman. I am the daughter of Julie and Eric Parkman, May Meadows Farm, DeKalb Junction. I am a freshman at Canton Central School. I am involved in 4-H, FFA, St. Lawrence County Maple Court, and St. Lawrence Valley Ayrshire Club. Megan is a candidate for Dairy Ambassador.
■ My name is Karissa Smith. My parents are Amy and Bob Smith. I am a 13-year-old home schooled student from Hermon. We have a small dairy farm. I own my own cattle that I show for 4-H. I love cooking, working with my chickens, and especially raising and training my cows. I enjoy farming, and am looking forward to promoting the dairy industry.
