OGDENSBURG - Before Tuesday’s season-opening dual meet with Potsdam, OFA Girls Track-Field Coach Diane Jeneault told her girls that every point would be precious.

After placing third in the shot put and sixth in the discus she volunteered to become the Devils third entry n the 3000 meter run in the final individual event of the day.

She completed the 10 lap event in sixth place and scored a point which proved crucial when the Potsdam’s foursome of Tiffany Love, Kate Hildreth, Marissa McIntosh and Arielle Stoian put together their best 400 times of the season to secure a must win which left the meet in a 158-158 tie.

Sam King led the shot put and took second in the discus for OFA which also received first place points from Kayla Tolman in the 100 hurdles and Charlotte Miller in the triple jump.

OFA BOYS PREVAIL

OFA’s depth controlled the Boys Meet where a small Potsdam contingent produced a triple-time medalist in Oden Robertson who led the 100 and 200 meter dashes and anchored and a 4x100 meter victory and a double individual medalist in Devin Crary who placed the discus throw and shot put. Peter Clark led the 110 hurdles and ran on the victorious 4x400 relay team Thomas Hobbs, Sam Lee and Kurt Waters.
