DWAI DRUGS - MASSENA - Village police charged Gerald L. Dissottle Jr., 21, of 532 Elliot Road, Norwood, with driving while ability impaired by drugs at 8:28 p.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on North Main Street. He was also ticketed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a stop sign violation.

Police said Dissottle failed several field sobriety stops at the scene of the 8:10 p.m. traffic stop and was extremely lethargic.

A passenger in his vehicle, Codi G. Burke. 21, of 15 Haskell St., Massena, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police said they noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle on the traffic stop and during a search of the vehicle located a Ziploc baggie containing marijuana in a secondary area of the center console along with $202 and a marijuana cigarette in the passenger side door.

Police said Burke claimed ownership of the money and the marijuana.

Burke had been fined $25 and a $125 surcharge and placed under a one-year conditional discharge Tuesday in village court after he pleaded guilty to an unlawful possession of marijuana charge stemming from a March 7 traffic stop.

PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police charged Amy M. Hamilton, 28, of 156 Haggart Road, Ogdensurg, with petit larceny at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday following an alleged shoplifting incident at Massena Walmart. She reportedly paid for a water and then walked past the last point of sale without paying for $241.54 worth of merchandise, including two small tables, multiple items of clothing, three pairs of footwear items. Store loss prevention agents told police Hamilton had removed the tags from the items and placed them in reusable Walmart shopping bags.

IMPROPER LEFT TURN - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Demetric T. Johnson, 35, of Starke, Fla., got making an improper left turn onto a one-way street at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on Route 37 at Parker Avenue.

OBSTRUCTED VIEW - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Alisha M. Bormann, 18, of Jefferson Avenue, Massena, for operation of a vehicle with an obstructed view at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on Main Street.

INADEQUATE EXHAUST - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Joedi L. Foster, 20, of Sylvan Falls Road, Potsdam, for operation of a vehicle with an inadequate exhaust at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on South Main Street.

INADEQUATE HEADLIGHTS - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Ashley C. Favreau, 25, of Eliot Road, Norwood, for operation of a vehicle with an inadequate headlight at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop in South Main Street.
