Save School

To The Editor:

To the Taxpayers of Massena,

Hi. My name is Chontelle Wilber. I go to Alternative Education and I’m in eighth grade.

The way I feel about our program closing is horrible. This program had helped me through so much. If it wasn’t for Alternative Education, I probably wouldn’t be here right now. My grades since I’ve been here have been amazing.

Before going to Alternative Education my math grade was always failing, and now I’m finally passing for the first time. I’ve never had my grades so high.

Alternative Education saved me from bullying. I was bullied everyday at the junior high. Ever since then I feel like myself here. It’s like my home. I can act myself.

If I was in the high school, I know for sure I wouldn’t act myself. Everyone judges you all the time and at Alt Ed that never happens. All the students and staff are like a family here.

Now, with all this happening, we’re not going to be anything anymore. We had lots of good times together. I just really hope this school doesn’t shut down because this program means the world to me. That’s the reason I wake up every morning for school.

I’ve never really been happy to wake up to go to school. But this program isn’t just a regular school, its family. Please help us save our school.

Chontelle Wilber
