ADAMS — A West Street woman was charged Thursday afternoon with stealing money from three donation jars at the Hearthstone Ministries thrift shop, 11 E. Church St.

Debra A. Reyonlds, 53, of 4 W. Church St., Room 13, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies with petty larceny after it was discovered that three donation containers were missing from the thrift store and that she had been the only customer there, deputies said.

Deputies said Ms. Reynolds earlier had placed one of the containers, labeled “Autism Awareness Team Avery,” at the shop. The other jars were to benefit Care Net Pregnancy Center and Hearthstone Ministries, deputies said.

Deputies said they later found Ms. Reynolds at her home, where she admitted to taking the containers, consolidating the contents into the jar she had placed in the shop and throwing the other two jars in a bin behind her residence.

She was issued an appearance ticket for Adams Village Court.
