The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce Gateway and Corridors program’s fourth season is under way, this time focusing on sprucing up State, Main, Canton and Fine streets and New York Avenue.

Also, Corning agreed to a landscaping project at its property in the 1800 block of Ford Street. All materials, design and labor were contracted locally.

The city expanded the scope of its Local Waterfront Redevelopment Planto include Ford Street, where the program debuted.

The response has been all positive, Ms. Porter said.

“We feel that we’re on the side of the homeowner,” she said. “Every one of them is surprised and honored to be recognized.”

The committee will be attending the “Re-Discover the Waterfront Workshop” on May 2 at Freight House Restaurant, 20 Market St. The workshop invites local Ogdensburg organizations and businesses to discuss strategies for rebuilding the culture along the waterfront.

The committee encourages residents to nominate homes and business that have improved their appearance.
