RUSSELL - Morristown and Edwards-Knox split in NAC WestBaseball and Softball action on Friday.The Rockets won a 8-3 decision to hand E-K its second straight loss and Cougar ladies softball team won 16-1 rebounding from their first loss of the season, to Heuvelton, on Wednesday.
E-K 16, Morristown 1: Harleigh LeBarge smacked a triple and single and drove in three runs and Mackenzie Hall, Mollee Burgher, and winning pitcher Makayla Bacon (8Ks, 1 walk, 3-hitter) each stroked two singles to lift the Cougars who scored seven runs in the fifth inning.
Dakotah Bacon, Katrina Moore, Kelsey White, Heather Finnerty and Sarah Rice each singled once.
For Morristown, Samantha Green lined two singles and Hailey Whitmarsh ripped a basehit.
Morristown 8, Edwards-Knox 3: Bobby Simmons fanned three and walked one scattering six hits in the Rockets complete game.
Luke King supplied a double and a single for MCS which scored twice in the second, third, sixth and seventh innings.
Jacob Fox added two singles while Bobby Simmons and Devin Dulmage each singled.
Losing pitcher Kaden Dandrow and Devin Sharlow each singled twice for E-K. Tyler Sharpstene and Trent White each singled.
