To The Editor:
The cars were parked form one end of the town to the other on both sides of the road. What was going on? Oh yes, the annual Easter egg hunt and breakfast at the Brier Hill fire hall.
With well over 400 people in attendance for breakfast and 5,000 eggs placed in the field, the morning was a success and enjoyed by all, from newborns to an 85-year-old.
The event gets bigger each year.
Thanks go to the following people who took the time to help get this event ready: Pat and Lyle Woodcock, Madison and Raegan Hunter, Mary Ellen and Larry Mace for filling eggs; Janet Woodside for handing out flyers; Valerie Harmon, Tish, Leah and Haley Ward, Sidney and Mia Johnson, Madison and Raegan Hunter for setting eggs out; Victoria Mitchell and Makala Roberts for face painting; Tish, Leah and Haley Ward for egg coloring; Valerie Harman, Pat Woodcock, Clara Jane Warren and Ellen Whitmarsh for helping the firemen with serving and cooking food.
Special thanks to Jim and Renee Clark for taking pictures again this year so all the kids could get a picture with the Easter Bunny.
To all the people who donated food: Doug and Kelly Lowery, Cy and Theresa Aldrich, Echoes on the Lake and Morristown Central School; and to Daniel Barse, Morristown Fire and Auxiliary, John and Deb Perretta for the filled eggs, thanks.
To Judy Streeter and Chris Hayes for the two fun-filled Easter baskets, thank you. It was very thoughtful.
To our Easter Bunny, Lauren Mace, who came all the way from New Jersey, great job and many thanks.
To all the firemen and auxiliary who helped set up, cook and clean up, thank you.
To all who attended, thanks and hope you had a great time.
Last but not least, big thanks to the lady who keeps us in line during the event and puts many hours into organizing this event each year for the kids, Mary Ellen Mace. Thank you and hats off to everyone for such a community event.
See you all next year.
