Helen M. Vincellette


FORT COVINGTON – Mrs. Helen M. Vincellette, 80, formerly of 69 Water Street, passed away February 20, 2013 at the Highland Nursing Home, where she was a resident since October 2009. Helen was born March 13, 1932 in Dundee, Quebec the daughter of the late James and Mary Lachomska Kazulak. She attended schools in Dundee. On September 19, 1949 she married Maurice E. Vincellette at St. Agnes Church in Dundee. He predeceased her on December 31, 1999. Helen was a homemaker and once worked part-time for Dorothy Brothers at Levine’s Store in Fort Covington. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s of the Fort Catholic Church, where she was active with the St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society. Helen was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing badminton with her husband, fishing, playing cards, and feeding the birds. She also enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting, and putting jigsaw puzzles together. Helen was an excellent cook and baker, and loved to garden and can the rewards of her garden. She is survived by her children, Sheila Brockway of Plattsburgh and her children, Andrew and Matthew Brockway; Cindy Cromie, her husband, Patrick and his children, Brian Cromie and Heather Green; Pamela Brockway, her husband, Russell and their children, Michael and Tira Brockway and Nicole and Richard Redmond; her great grandchildren, Robert King, Alex Redmond, and Teiryn Brockway; her step great grandchildren, Caroline, Sabella, and Ainsley Cromie, Ethan Green, Christopher Redmond, and Johl and Jakob Benedict. Helen is also survived by her sister, Isabelle Beckstead of Cornwall, Ontario; her brother, James and his wife Norma Kazulak of Champlain, New York; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Annie Ghostlaw, Victoria Patterson, George Kazulak, John Kazulak, Sylvia Stark, Harold Kazulak, Arthur Kazulak, Katherine Rossevier and Flora Kazulak. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated May 9th, 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s of the Fort Catholic Church with Rev. Martin E. Cline, celebrating. A calling hour will begin at 10:00 AM prior to the mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
