PARISH — Katie Pitkin tallied 15 strikeouts while surrendering no walks and just two hits in a complete game shutout to lead the General Brown softball team to a pivotal 5-0 Frontier League “B” Division victory over previously unbeaten Altmar-Parish-Williamstown on Monday.

Pitkin finished 2-for-3 with a run batted in and senior catcher Hope VanBrocklin doubled in a run for the Lions (9-2 overall, 8-1 league). Deleha Decker and Nikki Maier each added a pair of singles.

Tori Stanton went the distance for the Rebels (5-1), yielding five runs on 10 hits to go with six strikeouts. Stanton had allowed just two runs this season entering the game.

SANDY CREEK 13, SACKETS HARBOR 0

Sisters Michaela and Kylee Martin combined on a no-hitter to carry the Comets to a crossover win over the host Patriots (1-9, 1-7).

Michaela Martin threw the first four innings and Kylee Martin tossed the final three for Sandy Creek (8-1, 7-1).

Kylee Martin also tripled and drove in a run, and Maggie King went 3-for-3 with three runs batted in for the Comets.

LAFARGEVILLE 9, THOUSAND ISLANDS 7

Chanelle Savage singled in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning to cap the Red Knights’ come-from-behind crossover victory in LaFargeville.

Savage and Jenna Sharp, along with sisters Lauren and Logan Labiendo, each provided two hits for LaFargeville (7-2), which gave up six runs in the top of the first.

The Red Knights tied the game at seven runs apiece in the fifth and went ahead for good in the sixth.

Lindsay Barton doubled and drove in two runs, while Allie Barton and Alleigh Robbins each singled twice for Thousand Islands (4-4).

LOWVILLE 11, ALEXANDRIA 6

Catherine Lyndaker posted three RBIs as the Red Raiders scored five in the seventh for a crossover win against the Purple Ghosts in Alexandria.

Morgan McAleese socked three hits for Lowville (4-4).

Amanda Lingenfelter tripled twice for Alexandria (4-3).

SOUTH LEWIS 10, COPENHAGEN 0

Drianna Crofoot scattered six hits on her way to a shutout as the Falcons won a crossover game at Copenhagen.

Tasha Ortlieb generated three hits and two RBIs for South Lewis (9-1, 7-1).

Brooke Spaulding had three hits for Copenhagen (3-4).

BEAVER RIVER 22, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 3

Dallas Briot and Sidney Hawksley combined for 16 strikeouts (8 apiece) to help boost the Beavers to a crossover victory at Belleville.

Hawksley also drove in four runs on four hits, including a triple and a home run, and Briot finished with three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs for Beaver River (2-6).

Karen Fargo hit a double for Belleville Henderson (0-8).

INDIAN RIVER 17, CARTHAGE 3

Kammika Barnes homered and drove in three runs as the Warriors routed the Comets in a Frontier League “A” Division game at Carthage.

Megan Lynch went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs for Indian River (6-4, 3-3).

Kelly Hunneyman drove in a run for Carthage (1-6).

WATERTOWN 9, IHC 3

The host Cyclones used a seven-run fourth inning to claim an “A” Division victory.

Maggie Valentine and Destiny Cronce each plated two runs for Watertown (2-6, 1-4).

Korrine Clark and Brittany Dunnigan slapped a pair of hits for IHC (2-5, 0-5).

BASEBALL

CARTHAGE 12, INDIAN RIVER 2

Denny Montanez knocked in three runs on two hits as the Comets cruised to an “A” Division victory over the Warriors (1-4) in Carthage.

Catcher Dylan James also drove in three runs, and Danny Granger scattered four hits through five innings to get the win for Carthage (7-3, 7-1).

APW 6, GENERAL BROWN 1

Tylor Skellington scattered four hits in a complete game shutout, leading the Rebels to their first win of the season in a “B” Division game at Parish.

Cole Pappa went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Liam Dolan doubled and singled for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (1-5).

Jordan Schofield doubled twice for General Brown (2-8, 1-8).

SANDY CREEK 19, SACKETS HARBOR 6

The Comets took advantage of 11 errors to capture a crossover victory at Sackets Harbor.

Dylan Anthony went 2-for-4 for Sandy Creek (6-2).

Josh Keruski singled twice for Sackets Harbor (2-6).

LOWVILLE 7, ALEXANDRIA 2

Connor Fayle provided two hits as the Red Raiders claimed a crossover win over the Purple Ghosts in Alexandria Bay.

Jordan Arthur gave up one run and struck out six in four innings for Lowville (7-1).

Zach Walti doubled for Alexandria (1-6).

SOUTH LEWIS 8, COPENHAGEN 1

Cody Capron finished 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs to help lead the Falcons to a crossover victory at Copenhagen.

Shawn Loomis went the distance, striking out eight and giving up three hits, and Jason Martin drove in two runs for South Lewis (8-1, 7-1).

Antonio Figueroa belted a double for Copenhagen (4-3).

BEAVER RIVER 27, BELLEVILLE HENERSON 2

Sam Widrick and Kaelyn Ferguson combined on a no-hitter as the Beavers routed the Panthers (2-6) in a crossover game in Belleville.

Dustin Neddo belted a three-run home run for Beaver River (8-1, 7-1).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 12, LAFARGEVILLE 5

Cameron Robbins got the win and pounded out four hits as the Vikings won a crossover game at LaFargeville.

Morgan Earp tripled for Thousand Islands (6-2), which scored 10 runs in the third.

Matt Valin collected a pair of hits for LaFargeville (3-5).

GIRLS LACROSSE

WATERTOWN 12, GENERAL BROWN 9

Morgan Exford’s four goals helped the host Cyclones win a Frontier League matchup.

Morgan Cadwell tallied two goals and two assists for Watetown (8-1, 6-0).

Emily Amell scored three goals for General Brown (6-4, 3-3).

SOUTH JEFFERSON 19, CENTRAL SQUARE 3

Morgan and Madesyn Alexander provided seven points apiece as the Spartans routed host Central Square (2-8) in a nonleague game.

Morgan Alexander finished with six goals and an assist, and Madesyn scored three goals to go with four assists for South Jefferson (8-1).

CARTHAGE 10, OSWEGO 6

Doria Darroch and Mackenzie Kidder each accounted for two goals and one assist as the Comets secured a nonleague victory at Oswego. Leighann Booth scored twice, and Rebecca Abbott made seven saves for Carthage (2-7).

Alexa Healy provided two goals and two assists for Oswego (1-9).

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

SPARTANS WIN TWO MATCHUPS

Skylar Pastor won the 200- and 400-meter dashes and the high jump to help fuel South Jefferson to victories over Indian River, 100-41, and Sandy Creek, 131-9, during a Frontier League meet at Adams Center.

Indian River beat Sandy Creek, 114-27.

Jackie Miller ran to victory in the 1,500 and 3,000, and Tessa Winkler captured the 100 hurdles and long jump for South Jefferson (6-0).

Taylor Baynham took the 100 and anchored the first-place 400 relay for Indian River (5-1).
