Marie Carter, of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away at 2am Tuesday morning, April 30, 2013 at the age of 52. Surrounded by her loving family as she passed, Marie finally let go of her yearlong battle against cancer and joined her Mother where she can watch over all of those she took care of here on earth.

A Memorial service will be held at Christ Church, Episcopal in Morristown, NY on Saturday, May 4th at 12:00 pm with The Rev. Edgar A. LaCombe III - Rector of Christ Church officiating. Immediately following the service please join us at the home of Marie’s brother and sister-in-law John and Laurie Carter 5870 CR6, Ogdensburg, NY for a celebration of her incredible life.

Marie was born in Ogdensburg to Daniel Carter and Margaret Stark on August 13, 1960 She went to high school at Ogdensburg Free Academy and graduated in 1979. Marie made many friends over the years working at Mitel, Donut King and for the past seven years at Queenaire Technologies where her son and daughter also worked. Ask anyone who ever worked with Marie and you will hear what a hard worker she was, how innovative she was and mostly how loved she was. But first and foremost for Marie always was her family. Ask each of them what she enjoyed most in life you will get answers with smiles as they recall her passion for the things she loved. Marie loved camping which was often a big part of the family vacations, and there were so many memorable family trips. At home she loved to cook, but don’t look for a recipe book she never measured anything, and stay away from the remote it was Judge Judy, Law & Order or one of her many favorite cooking channels. If her family and friends all had to pick the one thing that Marie loved most it would most definitely be Christmas, she was always over the top and made every Christmas memorable for her children and grandchildren. Combine that with hockey, soccer, baseball, fishing or any sport that interested her family, Marie was all in.

Marie is preceded in death by her Mother, Margaret.

She is survived by her Life Partner and best friend of over 28 years, Frank Samarco of Ogdensburg who was faithfully by Marie’s side through every step of her battle. Her Father Daniel Carter of Ogdensburg, her younger brother and his wife John and Laurie Carter of Ogdensburg, two daughters Wendy Kennedy and Nicole Samarco, three sons, Patrick Kennedy, Trevor Samarco and James Samarco, her grandchildren Cole Samarco and Patrick, Kaelyn and Syeannah Kennedy . Marie would also want to remember Frank’s Family, Marilyn and Ed Coombs, her many, many cousins, aunts, uncles, niece and nephew and last but not least the pets she loved so much, Zilla, Maddy & Gorgonzola.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful nurses at Hepburn, Hospice and to all of our friends and family who traveled this journey with us. While Marie will be missed deeply, together we will keep her alive in our stories and memories of this remarkable daughter, mother, partner, sister, friend. God Speed Marie, We love you.
