Dear Friends: The following article is from the Ogdensburg Ministerial Association. We hope you find it uplifting and informative. Today’s article is titled, “National Day of Prayer.”

By THE REV. DAVID C. PIATT

Pastor

First United Methodist Church

Today is The National Day of Prayer. In many places it is a quiet affair. In others, this is a major event.

The National Day of Prayer is typically focused on our nation, but it is important to give strong emphasis on our city and its many needs. I want to encourage you to gather with us in front of Ogdensburg’s City Hall at 12:30 p.m. today. We will pray together for our country, its government, the military, the media, business, schools and family.

We believe this is vitally important. We will also sing a song, “You’re the God of This City,”written with Ogdensburg in mind. We will pray for the city. We will pray for the people. We will pray for the mayor and the City Council. We will pray for the city’s business leaders. And yes, we will pray for the churches of Ogdensburg.

We anticipate that through this event we will all be changed. We know the city will be changed.

Throughout the year we will continue to pray for Ogdensburg. We have been praying for revitalization and revival for several years now. We know it’s coming. We know our prayers will make a difference. Do you?
