To The Editor:

I am combining two letters I’ve written over the past two weeks to save myself some time. At 65 years my time in this life is important to me.

First: There are three kinds of love. Human to human.

1. Eros - (from which “erotic” comes): a sensual love based on sexual needs; lust requiring physical satisfaction; how lust is harmful - Matthew 5:27-28 - Jesus teaching.

2. Phileo (from which “Philadelphia” comes - The City of Brotherly Love): affection for a brother/sister because of our likeness to him/her; what brother meant to Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus - Philemon verse 16; harmonious because we are all part of God’s family - I Corinthians 1:10 Paul’s first letter to church of God at Corinth; the 6th of 7 qualities that God expects a growing Christian to exercise: 2nd Peter 1:5-7 - Simon Peter, a servant of Jesus Christ, NIV Student Bible.

3. Agape: an unconditional love; sacrificial love of Jesus: is ours because God first loved us; is a love for those who are not like us; the last of 7 qualities expected of the Christian who is being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ and possible only through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit; desiring the best; God’s will for another whatever the cost (to self); how agape love is manifested: 1) by being patient/kind; not jealous; 2) by not bragging or acting unbecomingly; 3) by not seeking its own but rejoicing in truth; 4) by bearing all things, enduring all things.

It is very possible there are many people who love all animals, as I do. Like us humans they were originally created by God for the world. As beasts of burden, helpers and meat - not as gluttony.

According to the paper, the Youth (12-15 yrs.) Spring Turkey Hunt was April 20-21. I did not even know there was such a season.

To me, teaching children to handle guns and hunt and derive enjoyment from killing is so wrong.

Parents, we all have a responsibility to God, this country and the world for how we raise the gift of our children. Just because you can obtain a license, within the law, and the secular state and federal government says many things are acceptable by man’s laws, this does not mean it is right. All in the name of equality and freedom.

We say God Bless America but we do not praise, love and value God above all and the teachings of His Son, agape love and peace.

May you all have a blessed Mother’s and Dad’s day, with God’s grace and mercy.

Grace - is when you get what you don’t deserve.

Mercy - is when you don’t get what you do deserve.
